Access to Lifesaving Care for Vulnerable Families
Our Medical Program is a life-saving initiative designed to ensure that children and families in the slums of Kibera and Kawangware receive timely and quality healthcare. Many of these families face dire health challenges but lack the financial means to seek treatment. We step in to bridge this gap by facilitating medical assessments, accompanying patients to hospitals and clinics, and advocating for the best care possible.
We cover a wide range of services, including outpatient and inpatient treatment, emergency care, surgeries, follow-up appointments, and access to both short-term and chronic medication. For children with conditions such as sickle cell anemia, epilepsy, or asthma, we provide consistent monthly medication and monitor their progress through regular home and school visits.
In addition to direct medical care, we educate families on disease prevention, hygiene, nutrition, and early detection of illnesses. Our team works closely with local health facilities and specialists to offer referrals, negotiate treatment plans, and ensure long-term recovery and support.
By reducing the financial burden and walking alongside families through their medical journeys, we not only improve health outcomes but also restore hope and dignity to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
