Home Based Care

Bringing Compassion Home

Our Home Based Care (HBC) program is committed to providing holistic support to vulnerable families living in the informal settlements of Kawangware and Kibera. We understand the multifaceted struggles these families face—particularly single-parent households—and we are dedicated to walking alongside them in their journey toward stability and dignity.

The Challenges We Address

In these communities, many households are led by single parents who bear the full weight of family responsibilities with limited or no support. They are tasked with:

  • Paying for Electricity and Water to maintain basic living conditions.

  • Managing Sanitation Needs, including access to toilets and waste disposal.

  • Providing Food and Clothing for their children to ensure health and dignity.

  • Family adoption to secure a safe and stable home.

Balancing these essential needs without a stable income or support system can be overwhelming. These families often live on the edge of survival, where any crisis, be it illness, job loss, or inflation, can push them deeper into poverty.

Our Response

The HBC program offers tailored interventions such as:

  • Food baskets and nutritional support

  • Rental and utility assistance

  • Referrals for medical care

  • Psychosocial support through regular home visits

  • Life skills and parenting guidance

Our approach is personal and consistent. We don’t just provide short-term relief—we build relationships, restore hope, and foster resilience so that families can regain their footing and move forward with confidence.
