Adrian Messi

Date of Birth: 4th March 2009

Adrian is the 2nd child in a family of 2 children. He lives with her grandmother, brother and cousins in one roomed mud house in Kibera slum at a house hold of 8 people.
Her grandmother is the sole provider, does occasional casual jobs i.e. within the slum of Kibera to earn a living but that incomes she earns its hardly enough to cater for family needs/expenses. The casual jobs are not readily available and no guaranteed of any payment after the works. The father abandoned the children when there were small children. The grandmother says supporting the family has become a challenge and she is stressed since family expenses overwhelmed the little money she gets.

Paying school fees to her four grandchildren has become a challenge and is regularly at home due to lack of school fees. Her auntie is still admitted to Kenyatta national hospital and   paying hospital consolation fee / admission was a problem thus neighbors had to contribute some cash to support the family.

Food is a major challenge the family face and hardly afford meals a day and the only meal there are sure of is the feeding done at Karama school where her four grandchildren are beneficiary., paying house rent is also a challenge and on severally occasional they have slept on cold after being forced out by caretaker. Adrian is a discipline boy and performs average in class. Adrian’s need is education support so that he can accomplish his dream.
