Unleashing Potential, Nurturing Purpose
The Kipawa Sato Program is a transformative initiative by Heart to Heart Organization designed to discover, nurture, and grow the talents of children, teens, and youth in the slums of Kibera and Kawangware. Rooted in our daily feeding programs, we recognized that these young individuals carry incredible potential beyond academics, gifts that deserve to be seen and supported.
This vibrant program provides a platform for creative expression, spiritual growth, and personal development through music, dance, drama, poetry, sports, and more. We not only build skills but also build character, fostering self-confidence, teamwork, and purpose.
Currently active in Kibera Lutheran Church and Kawangware Lutheran Church. Kipawa Sato engages over 300 children and youth. The program is youth-led and supported by mentors, professionals, and volunteers who guide, train, and walk alongside them in their journey.
Program Goals
Promote spiritual growth through engaging Bible teachings
Encourage active participation to counter idleness
Provide creative therapy for children with trauma or loss
Offer career guidance and mentorship
Identify and develop talents in performing arts and sports
Foster psychosocial wellness through group support
Promote teamwork and self-awareness through team-building activities and excursions
Our activities include:
- Music – Voice and instruments.
- Dance – Traditional and modern.
- Sports – Football, Basket ball, Badminton, Chess, Darts, Volleyball
- Art and Craft
Kipawa Holiday Camp
Every year, we host a Kipawa Holiday Camp, offering a much-needed escape from the tough realities of slum life. Held in peaceful natural locations outside Nairobi, these camps give our children space to play, bond, reflect, and heal. For many, it’s the first time they experience life beyond the city.
We aim to sponsor 150 children and 20 mentors each year. With your support of Ksh 4,000 (USD 40) per child, we provide transport, meals, accommodation, play items, hygiene kits, and a small stipend for volunteers.
These camps are more than fun, they’re life-changing. In a safe and nurturing environment, children open up about their struggles, receive counseling, and are guided away from dangers like drug use, crime, early marriage, and exploitation.
